Application call 2009-2012

The ARGO GLOBAL Program has three-year duration. The program starts in December 2009 and the finalization and return deadline of the ARGO GLOBAL interns is October 31th 2012.

Graduate Applications deadline is the 30st June 2012.

Through the 2009-2012 application’s call, a whole of 1100 grants will be allowed to realize 840 internships in European companies, 100 internships in USA, 60 internships in Canada and 100 internships in Spanish

 
 

Length

The average length of the internships is of:

  • 6 months for Europe
  • 10 months for USA
  • 7 months for Canada
  • 10 months for Asia 

All the internships must start on the 1st or the 15th of every month.

Who can participate?

To be eligible to an ARGO GLOBAL grant you have to meet the following prerequisites:

  • To hold a university degree in any public or private Spanish university (See Official Catalogue )
  • Not to have benefited before from any mobility grant: Leonardo Da Vinci, ARGO grant, FARO GLOBAL grant or INTEGRANTS

 

Important, the following persons may not participate in the Program:

  • PhD, Master graduates or any kind of Postgraduate studies, which have not obtained the previous university degree in a Spanish university
  • Graduates of any other upper education degree, like are the ones given in the upper Schools of Music or the Fine Arts Schools, or any university degree or degree recognition obtained in any foreign country

How can I get an ARGO GLOBAL grant?

To apply for an ARGO GLOBAL grant, the first step you have to do is to register on our system by filling in the form (click here ).

After concluding this first step, the system will automatically send you a message with your access details (user and password) to the e-mail address that you have previously indicated. After receiving this message, return to www.becasargo.es, access your private area and fill out the part regarding your CV.

You will only become an ARGO GLOBAL candidate when you have successfully registered your CV.

Selection process

To supply every concerned part (grant holder / company) with the best profiles that match the internship offer, the ARGO GLOBAL management's team will carry out a pre-selection process, respecting the availability and conditions expressed by the companies, and also the skills and preferences indicated by the candidates. These will be immediately notified via e-mail of their inclusion in any selection process which meets their profiles and they will also be provided with the following information:

  • Name and code of the internship offer
  • Location of the internship
  • Business sector of the company
  • Expected starting date
  • Duration of the internship
  • Description of the internship and associated tasks

Candidates who wish to participate in the selection process need to enter their private area in the website with their username and password, and explicitly indicate whether they are interested or not in continuing with that particular selection process. If they are interested, they should enter their CV in the language requested in the internship offer.

The company will consider the received curricula and may use complementary selection tools, such as phone interviews, requests for additional information from candidates or any other action it believes necessary. The final choice will be made by the company only.

Once the selection process ends, all candidates included will be notified via e-mail whether they have been awarded an ARGO GLOBAL grant or not. Non selected candidates will be included in future selection processes that match their profile.

Selected candidates have to formally accept the grant. To this purpose, the ARGO GLOBAL Management Team will contact them directly and provide them with all the necessary pieces of information regarding the documents they need to submit and the paperwork associated to the grant.

Collaboration commitments

Collaboration commitments of each participant are established as follows:

The FICYT (the Institution) is committed to:

  • Assuring the quality of the internship
  • Preselecting beneficiaries on the basis of clearly defined and transparent criteria
  • Establishing a contract whose contents are transparent for all parties involved
  • Helping interns in collaboration with partner organizations in the practical, professional and cultural aspects of life in the host country, in particular and if necessary, through language training focused to meet their occupational needs
  • Assisting and informing the intern about the stay
  • Evaluating with each participant the personal and professional development achieved through participation in the ARGO Project
  • Contracting a multirisks insurance policy (against accidents, civil liability and travel assistance)

The beneficiary (the Intern) is committed to:

  • Abiding by the rules and regulations of the host organization, its normal working hours, code of conduct and rules of confidentiality
  • Communicating immediately the FICYT any problem or changes regarding the placement
  • Sending to the FICYT the Intermediate Report in the middle of the internship and the Final Report at the end of the internship. Attached to this last one must be also submitted all documentation related to transport fees
  • To read the ARGO GLOBAL grant program website (www.becasargo.es) with due attention in order to become sufficiently familiar with the details of the program he/she is taking part in
  • Comply with all arrangements negotiated for his/her placement and to do his/her best to make the placement a success
  • To be informed of and comply with the necessary administrative requirements regarding entry to and permanence in the host country
